OH Hayden!

WOW I suck at this. Really I rarely have a moment to myself I usually have one kid whining. Well lets see what's been going on in my life. The last few months we have had many Dr. visits for Hayden. He has proved to be the million dollar kid. First we took him to see an allergist because I suspected he had food allergies and I was right. He is allergic to eggs and soy. Do you know how many things have soy in them. EVERYTHING! this is so frustrating. I literally have to read every package I buy. I takes so long to grocery shop. Later we realized he is milk and gluten intolerant. I am very strict about what he eats because if he eats any of these things evil Hayden emerges. Since I have corrected his diet he is a much better child. He actually listens to me and is finally starting to talk. Next we went and saw a neurologist. Hayden does have a mild cerebral palsy. It's barely noticeable he just seems extra clumsy. If any of you remember what he went through at birth. I cannot complain. A couple of months ago Hayden started a structured play class at DDI. He goes twice a week. He loves it. He has learned so much they actually moved him up to the next higher class Play n Learn. He makes little art projects and sings songs. So all day long he wants me to sing songs with him and I love every bit of it. He actually starts the early 3 year old preschool class in January where he will get speech therapy which is very exciting for me because my insurance will not pay for private speech therapy.

Parker doing wonderful. She is a little piggy. She's almost 6 months old and weighs about 15lbs. She will literally eat anything I give her. She loves her bother she smiles and laughs at him. The other night Hayden was in the bath and I took her in there with me. She laughed hysterically at him splashing in the tub. One of those moments you'll never forget.

Well now I have caught up on my life for last two months. I guess I can go another two months. Just kidding.

Mumps!

Oh my where do I begin? About two weeks ago Hayden got a cold. We went to the doctor and we were told it was viral and to just let it run it's course. Well one week goes by Hayden is still sick and getting worse. Friday night he really freaked me out. He was extremely lethargic, crying and running a fever of 102. So I decide to take him to instacare. They did a chest x-ray which was normal gave him a breathing treatment and sent us on our way. Then Parker gets the cold. She was pissy for a couple of days and then she seemed to feel better. Meanwhile Hayden is still sick. Monday came and Hayden seemed to be feeling better. Then he wakes up from his nap screaming. I tried calming him down and then I see the left side of his neck. It looked like a golf ball was stuck in his neck. I freaked out! I put him in the car and raced down to Jordan Valley. We sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes and then an hour in the room. In the meantime the lump starts to go down and he seems to feel better. The doctor basically thought is was some type of bug bite and to give him benadryl and motrin for the pain. We go home Hayden seems fine. I put him to bed. He wakes up at 2:30 am screaming again. Obviously not a bug bite. This time I race up to Primary Childrens. A cat scan and 3 hours is diagnosed Parotitis(Mumps). Funny thing is that he had his MMR shot when he was a year old. Just the other day I was complaining about paying 600.00 a month for cobra insurance on the kids. I am certainly glad I did.

It's not easy being mom!

This is great. I work for a physical therapist once a week. I go into his office for 4 or 5 hours and doing his billing. I actually look forward to going to work. Just to have those few hours of no kids is great. For the 1st month or so I was taking Parker with me. Now that she is getting older she is awake more I can't take her with me. She thinks I need to hold her the entire time. Anyways, I've started leaving her with Shaun. I don't think he even realized how hard it can be with a busy 2yr old and a baby. I came home from work and walked in the door to a very messy kitchen. Hayden's lunch was still all over the floor. I looked at Shaun and he had this look of total frustration on his face. Hayden was being Hayden but raised it up a notch for Dad. He was on a rampage all morning. He first destroyed his bedroom ( we all know what he is capable of if you've looked at one of my previous posts). Next he went in our bedroom bathroom and proceeded to throw all of my makeup in the toilet. Meanwhile Shaun was trying to feed Parker. He had to stop feeding Parker and set her down. She was not happy she takes eating very seriously. Parker was screaming soon after Hayden was screaming because he got a spanking and I just laughed...hard. I think Shaun has a new appreciation for what I deal with on a daily basis.

Memory Tag!

Leave a memory that you and I had together. Next, repost these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me I'll assume your playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you!

This should be fun!

Slacker

Wow I am a slacker. I have not posted on my blog for almost a month. Parker is 2 1/2 months old and I am still trying to get use to taking care of two kids. Hayden is a little turd I just caught him sitting in front of the mirror spitting his strawberry milk out all over the carpet and laughing. I should have known something was up when I heard him laughing at himself. Parker is crying ( what's new). I thought maybe because Hayden was fussy baby she would be a breeze. Not so much. She cries every night from 5 to 10. I'm getting use to it, but Shaun has no patience and that makes me more frustrated because I have to listen to him bitch about it. Love it! Anyways, Shaun started a new job at Kennecott. Tonight was his first night of graveyards. Needless to say he was extra ornery. I told him he should be happy he gets to go to work and I have to listen to Parker cry all night.

I think I'll have to cut this short. I can't hear Hayden so who knows what he is doing and Parker is ofcourse crying.

How Cute!

Wow! I finally figured out how to download those cute backgrounds. I act like it is hard or something. Sometimes things are too easy and I try to make them harder than they need to be. Anyways, another crazy day. Hayden has not had a nap. His bedroom smells like a urinal. Hayden loves to strip himself everyday when I lay him down for a nap. I was putting onesies on him, but he has figured how to take them off also. Today I layed him down in an hour and a half he had taken his diaper off 4 time and peed through the slats in his crib on to the carpet ( I am so mad I just had the carpets cleaned). I finally gave up on the nap and let him out of his prison and he proceeded to remove all clothing from his dresser and throw them across the room. WHAT THE HELL!!!! I give up!! HELP!!!!

Arrrrrgh!

Life with a 2 yr old and a newborn is quite chaotic. Right now I am typing with one hand and holding Parker in the other. I'll have to say I am pretty fast typer with just one hand. Yesterday Shaun went to Vernal for work and did not get home until today at noon. Ask me how much fun that was. I do not know how single mom's do it. I would be a basket case or an alcoholic (ha ha ).

Well Parker thinks that she should have a boob in her mouth 24/7. This is my 1st time breast feeding. Hayden would never latch on. I'm still trying to decide if it's for me. Don't get me wrong I love it but, it is very time consuming. I'm having a hard time trying to relax and enjoy it. I'll I do is look around at my house and see Hayden's destruction. I'm kind of a clean freak. I have to say I'm not as bad as before children. Before kids I was constantly vacuuming. I had an obsession with carpet lines. I honeslty wonder what my house would look like if I decided not to clean for just one day. You know what let's not go there. I might have a panic attack.

Parker Kay Petersen

Parker arrived May 30th @ 1:42pm. She was a month early and had a bit of a rough start. She spent a week in the NICU at St. Marks. She had a little trouble breathing on her own, but all is well now. So funny my last blog was on May 29th and I was trying to stay calm and keep my blood pressure down. It did not work. She was born the next day (emergency c-section for the 2nd time.) I recomend if you can avoid a c-section delivery do so. The recovery time is long and painful, especially when you have to chase a 2 yr old.

Hayden's New Haircut

This is what you get when you let dad give the haircuts. I love it though he's my tough guy. Life has been extremely crazy. I am a mortgage loan officer and I closed a loan today that if it could go wrong it did. I have to go to the hospital twice a week for a NST (non-stress test) and to monitor my blood pressure. Yesterday was a bad day. I thought my loan was going down the crapper. My phone was ringing off the hook and as I am laying there trying to stay calm each time the machine takes my blood pressure it creeps up a little higher. Good thing I finished my test before it got too high and they made me stay.

We finally scheduled my c-section and I have only 3 weeks left. My little Parker will be born on June 19th (if my blood pressure stays down). I almost think I need it. Sick! I know who really wants to go full term. Ask me after this weekend when the weather gets hotter.

Pregnancy Yuck!

Well this is my first blog. My sister Emily has been telling me to start a blog for months now. I guess she finds my everyday life entertaining.

I am a mother of a very busy 2yr old boy and I am 8 1/2 mos pregnant with a girl. I am looking at my feet right now and they are twice the size of normal, my flip flops leave indentations on the tops of my feet and I now have cankles. My husband and son bought me new Nike shox tennis shoes for Mother's day and my feet are to fat to fit in them. All in all I feel really pretty. I wonder "does my face look as swollen as my feet?" Probably.
